Keun Ho Peter Park is a furniture designer, maker, and sculptor based in Philadelphia. His practice centers on parallels between wood and the human body as living organisms, creating anthropomorphized sculptures that function simultaneously as furniture, musical instruments, and vessels. Park employs free-flowing curves derived from organic forms and complex joinery techniques, contrasting wood's natural tones and grain with bold color and patterned surfaces. Born in Columbus, Ohio, and raised in South Korea, Park holds a BFA in painting from Kookmin University and an MFA in Woodworking and Furniture Design from Rochester Institute of Technology. His work has been recognized with the Smithsonian Craft Show's First-time Artist Award (2022), the Philadelphia Museum of Art Craft Show's Best in Design Award (2019), and the Wharton Esherick Award: Excellence in Wood (2015). He has taught at the University of the Arts and currently instructs fine woodworking at Bucks County Community College.
